Serenity House of Volusia, Inc., is a private not for profit 501(c) 3 corporation located in Daytona Beach, Florida. Serenity House was originally organized in 1978 for the purpose of coordinating alcoholism treatment facilities in the Halifax area and establishing and operating a halfway house for alcoholics to assist in their recovery and rehabilitation. The organization became Serenity House of Volusia, Inc. on June 10, 1987.
For thirty years, Serenity House has served individuals in need, currently serving approximately 1500 persons annually. This assistance includes community outreach, comprehensive assessment of client needs, access to a full range of residential, outpatient, and community-based treatment interventions, employment/vocational preparation opportunities, and access to safe and sober housing. Effective collaborative partnerships with community providers are essential in accessing services that enhance long term recovery.
Mission
It is the mission of Serenity House of Volusia, Inc. to provide a full range of services, including long term care, to indigent adults with serious substance abuse disorders in Northeast Florida.
Vision
In the 21st century, Serenity House is poised to provide leadership in expanding services to individuals with complex needs. Our goal is to make the community a safer and better place to live by helping people to become functional, tax-paying citizens.
To this end we will continue to expand our community’s substance abuse counseling services, provide access to safe, permanent housing for the homeless, provide training and job placement opportunities for our clients, and collaborate with community partners to enhance our system of care.
